Distribution Services

System Betterment Project

Scope of  Work:Nine individual project scopes, including various pipe mains and service replacement throughout rural and urban areas within Alberta. The work generally required directional drilling to minimize community and environmental impact.

Oliver-Grand Forks KP 120 273MM Transmission Pipeline Replacement

Scope:The complete installation of approximately 3720 m of 273 mm, 6.4 mm WT, Grade 359, FBE coated, triple random, sweet natural gas pipeline


Williams Lake Pipeline Replacement

Client:Fortis BC Energy Inc
Partnerships:Williams Lake Indian Band and Soda Creek First Nations
Date:August 2015 to September 2015
Scope:Replace a section of the existing 114mm transmission pressure (6619 kPa maximum operating pressure) pipeline in the Williams Lake, B.C. area, on a 70% slope

Highland Valley Mill Optimization Project

Client:Teck Highland Valley Copper Partnership
Date:May 2013 to January 2014
Scope:Installation of new 42” carbon steel pipe and 48” HDPE from the existing Booster Station #2 (including tie-ins to the existing system) to the Raw Water Reservoir for approximately 6,900 meters.

Gateway SF2/ SF5 Pipeline Reinstatement

Client:Fortis BC Energy Inc
Date:June 2012 to June 2013
Scope:Installed 4.1 kilometers of 24-inch and 36-inch HP NG pipeline as part of the construction of the South Fraser Perimeter Road project. Work included grading, de-watering, water treatment (44.7 million gallons), installation of pipelines, creek crossings, road crossings, pipe, remove tie-ins and reinstatement of R/Ws and drainage appliances. Project also involved installation and removal of 80,000 tones of preload and access roads.

Scope:Supply and installation of 20 inch dewatering pipeline to carry water from the in-pit lake to the top of the Phase 6 Pit and discharge into the Mickelson Creek drainage at the Greenhills Operation.

Line Creek

Client:Teck Resources Limited
Date:July 2013 to December 2013
Scope:To install and commission a Natural Gas Pipeline through the Line Creek Operation Canyon to the West Line Creek Selenium Active Water Treatment Facility.

Kelowna Bio Gas

Client:Fortis BC Energy Inc
Date:December 2013 to May 2014
Scope:The extraction of bio methane gas from the kelowna land fill that is converted and added to Fortis BC’s natural gas grid. The key to this project’s success was Marwest’s ability to integrate ARC Technologies gasification techology to an economically and environmentally viable product.
Marwest Utility Services Ltd. was founded in 1987, and has grown to become one of the largest gas utility companies in the Interior of British Columbia.

In 2007, Rocky McLeod acquired Marwest and aligned it with Darlen Transport.
